Early this year we implemented our CA products and in a very short time we ran into a problem when we renamed a computer. As many of you are aware, CA products are heavily dependent on hostnames. Unfortunately, it wasn't easy to rename the host in AMO and still keep the SDO installation history. I had no problem with SDO, but AMO was another story. What complicated this matter is relative to the method we use to install the AMO agents. I'm not sure how other organizations install AMO agents, but without going into great detail, we basically send down a batch file that copies the `UMCSTUB' files to the workstation. Clients get their configuration information from a single template on the AMO server. Update the template - all clients are updated. After discussing the problem with the implementation team, they informed me to delete the `CLIENTWS' folder from the root directory and watch for the update in AMO. Needless to say, that fixed it. If you would like more info, don't hesitate to contact me.
