| We use a generic message/action to capture all server reboot traps, however because we are forwarding the traps from several DSM's we are seeing multiple held messages for the same server reboot. Is there any way to suppress those duplicates without setting up an indiv. message/action for each and every server's reboot ? Thanks ! |

Have you tried deleting messages before sending the new occurrence?: delkeep -all -n L17AESM1 "&1 |

| We use duplicate suppression for this, we are using WMO from multiple servers and this works in most cases. If it does not you can always use Advance correlation. |

Hi Tom, Are you using the FDU EvtAds for your duplicate supression? I too am looking for a method of reducing duplicate and trap floods, but I'm not sure if I should use the FDU or start getting familiar with AEC. Any comments are appreciated. |

| You could make the first message action DISABLE, then after whatever other actions you have (like SENDKEEP), put a DELAY of however long it usually takes for the messages to stop. That way the first message will go to the Held Message Area, but the rest will just go to the log. |

| We use the FDU from the implimentaion CD. Last year at CA World, Bill Merrow told us this was the most efficient way to remove duplicates. |

Thank you for clarifying the supression tool Tom. Did you experience any issues with the current release of the tool which needed any patches or is it good to go from the CD? Thanks again, Mike |
