Hi,
I am new to Unicenter and have a few questions. 1. How do I reload the Workload Database on a Windows Machine running the agent. 2. Do I have to reload the database everytime I make a change to a message, job, trigger etc. 3. is there anywhere I can get documentation as what is supplied on teh CD is pretty limited.

Your help is appreciated.

1. The Workload database is not loaded on the machine with the agent. It exists on the workload server only. The agent on the machine running the job stands alone. 2. The workload database does not need to be reloaded everytime you make a change. You may be getting confused with terms here. The workload data base would only be reloaded if you had copied it out to a flat file and wiped the data base completely out. It's not like the DSB on event management. 3. The only documentation is pretty complete. Look in Books Online > CA Procedures > Contents > Step-by-Step Procedures > Enterprise Management > Workload Management. You may even want to print that part out for ready reference.

I don't know where the documentation is for workload basics (you may find a class in the CA World sessions. Go to the CAWORLD website and select the "Session Presentations Now Available" button. You will be taken to the session section).

Workload requires everything to be contained in a jobset (jobs, resources and triggers).

When you get everything set up and ready to run (jobs, resources and triggers), autoscan moves the jobset to the tjobset where it is run.

If you want to make any changes to the jobset (jobs, resources or triggers) and have it run now, you will have to cancel the tjobset (tjob, tresource, or ttrigger) and issue a "cautil start autoscan" to bring the changed jobset into tjobset for execution (or you can use the gui and force the tjobset to run again).

I know this is very short but please call me if you want more help.
