Is anyone running Unicenter in VMWare? I'd be very interested to hear what kinds of production and test environments are utilizing VMWare, and opinions on performance, benefits, pitfalls, etc. Any comments are appreciated! mike.potts@publix.com |

| We are running NSM inside of VMware in full production environment & have not had a single problem or an issue with CA support about it either. Performance is equal to physical world. Only pitfall is if you had a crash on a physical VMware system that is running production virtual NSM server. But with virtual center and Vmotion, I don't see a problem with it. |

I've a problem I can't get to the bottom of regarding VMWare and SDO. When starting up TOS in DTS, it is immediately resetting the IP address of a DTS object discovered by the NOS, from the correct IP address to 127.0.0.1. I seem to have narrowed this down to a dependancy TOS has on something called hgfs. hgfs turns out to be a file sharing option within VMWare. Even though I've disabled this and rebuild the virtual image, the dependancy remains and TOS continues to reset the IP address to 127.0.0.1 thus rendering DTS useless for that machine. Has anyone any ideas? Many thanks |
