Hello from ccccoolllldddd NYC... I am facing a problem internally. We have developed a runbook system around the EM console; once you highlight a message in the console, you can click an action button which will look up the message in a database and provide a runbook or set of procedures via a web browser. The runbook may be generic, or specific to the server/instance in the original message. The tool meets the initial requirements, but is showing its age. I'm looking for a third-party product (open-source or commercial) to cover this need, rather than try to reverse-engineer custom development done back in TNG 2.2 days. Does anyone have any ideas? |

| Actually I can not think of anything that would do this... While I was at CSX we developed an inhouse solution similiar to this as a web based application. I furrther enhanced the process by having MRA's force a webpage open by calling an external script on the client pc and referencing the message in a sql query. It too is rather a pain to maintain. I would be curious to see what ever you find or decide to implement. |
