| I am at wits end so i am turning to you for help. I recently took over a network running Arcserve backup for Windows 11.1. It is a Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4 environment - all servers run same OS; Backup runs off of domain controller and backs up a file server that runs the High Availability Package with another file server. The file server is backed up via network onto an external hard drive. Every time the backup app starts to back up the file server, HA records 2 errors: the network has failed and the connection to secondary server has been lost, therefore your primary server is no longer being protected. I have to manually restart the protection task on the primary server in HA. After numerous tech calls, the most recent attempt had me load SP1 and a device patch into Backup 11.1, use the backup client for windows to relieve network congestion by eliminating backing up the file server through the network, and loading SP1 for the client package as well. Unfortunately, i got the same 2 error codes as soon as the file server started to get backed up. I do not get these errors any other time when HA is working and back ups are not happening. Even with the errors, each servers network connectivity is intact, nothing else is running on the network. We are using 2 fairly new 10/100 Linksys switches with Auto-sense runnning; each NIC has Auto Sense as speed setting. Any ideas? |
