10/10/2007 10:14 AM Alert
Good morning. I know that this might sound like an odd question to some, but this is my first experience with BrightStor and am kind of at a loss. I know how to check to see if the backups have been completed by checking the logs, but am not sure how to actually look at what is contained on the tape. Is there a way to do this? Are there any other members of the list currently doing something like this?
I have been charged with maintaining our server's backups until we finish our upgrade in December, and the higher ups are quite paranoid about the validity of the information contained on the tapes.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ward

On tapes that are not showing up in the database you need to run a MERGE to get the info back into the database. After running a merge you can then view the data on the tape by clicking on dabase/ media rcord and select the the tape that you just merged into the database.
