Hi all, We have a client interested in accessing Unicenter Portal from the internet. We installed portal initially with the shortname (no dns attached as described in readme) and configured with the internal IP address. Install was successful and can access all portal pages on the local segment. We then configured the internet DNS for the hostname which appends the domain to the hostname. Next I edited local.properties\host.name entry and local.database\jdbc.url entry to include the FQDN and recycled the portal service. I checked the POR_Server table and verified the name was appended correctly (FQDN). From the internet I am able to login to portal and access its main page but when the workplace opens which has published NPO reports I receive an error "Unable to display page". I also notice that sometimes in the lower bottom window where it displays the pages its opening, it makes refrence to the shortname. When I login to portal from the office, I am able to view all content. My question is has anyone successfully configured portal to be accessable from the internet? If any steps on proper configuration can be posted I would greatly appreciate it. Hey Jessica, can you tap any resources for this one?? Thanks to all in advance. -Mike |

| Well I finally got the issue sorted out unfortunately I wound up uninstalling/reinstalling portal with the FQDN. There were too many places in Portal that was caching the short name. I can now access Portal from the internet without a problem. |
